Structural engineering

Structural engineering covers a wide range of structures

The field of structural engineering comprises a bewildering number of different structures, such as residential and office buildings, whose serviceability has to be guaranteed within the planned duration of use. Because we all live and work in such buildings, we naturally place great value on the planning, erection and repair of these structures.

Design aspects in structural engineering

As well as the “normal” aspects of static design, other special areas must always be considered, such as traffic safety, building physics, fire protection and energy efficiency. It is therefore essential to know and understand each form of construction and their properties in order to be able to detect and remove any damages or weaknesses. Targeted structural diagnostics can contribute to the long-term preservation of value.
