Renewable energies are growing in significance and create high demands for concrete
In Germany the use of renewable energies is gaining on importance, last but not least due to the change in energy policy. The generation of energy by fermenting organic material is a well-known process. The resulting materials can strongly attack the concrete and significantly reduce the durability of the respective components.
Use of high-performance concretes
To prevent such attacks on the concrete microstructure, additional measures should therefore be planned, such as protective layers or permanent cladding, e.g. with PEHD sheets. In addition, the conception of special high-performance concretes enables a considerable improvement in acid and sulphate resistance. However, due to incorrect planning or use, severe damage often occurs, for which suitable repair concepts have to be found.
